OBITUARY Print

William (Bill) C. Perrego of Chester, NY passed away on March 18th at Lawnwood Medical Center in Fort Pierce, Florida surrounded by his family.  He was the husband of Roseanne Perrego of Chester.

Born in Dallas, PA, he was the son of the late William and Marie Perrego of Montrose, PA.  He graduated from Wilkes University with an education degree and SUNY New Paltz with a masters degree in education and a masters degree in School Administration.  He worked for many years at the Washingtonville School District and finished his career with the Greenwood Lake Union Free School District.  In addition he spent many years in real estate investment.

Bill was an avid golfer and enjoyed taking trips around the country and abroad playing at a variety of courses.  There were many times that golf instructors had commented to students to “watch that guy” in order to learn the perfect swing.  But he will mostly be remembered for his corny jokes, random trivia and magic tricks.

Bill is survived by his wife of eight wonderful years, Roseanne Perrego; son W. David Perrego; son Mark J. Perrego; daughter Melissa Fox and son in law Scott L Lopez; granddaughter Katelyn M. Fox; grandsons Brendan W. Fox and Jared S. Lopez; Stepdaughter Beth McGrath-Carey and her husband Brett; Stepdaughter Kerry McGrath-Dolberg and her husband Allen; grandchildren Samantha Carey, Michael Carey, Marley Dolberg and Zoe Dolberg;  sister Donna Sands and husband Richard Sands  and many nieces, nephews and loved ones.

Bill was preceded into death by his wife, Virginia T. Perrego in 2003.  They were married for 34 years.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held this summer in Orange County, NY.  All those who were touched by this amazing man are welcome to attend.  In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the local food bank.
