Kathleen (Zabresky) Daskalakes, 70, Harveys Lake, passed away on June 28, 2021. Born in Forty Fort, she was the daughter of the late Thomas, Sr. and Dolores (Eckenrode) Zabresky, and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and Misericordia University.
Kathie was a tireless and outspoken advocate for animals in our community and an avid supporter of the SPCA of Luzerne County, as well as the MidAtlantic Scottish Terrier Education and Rescue, Inc.. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Dennis Daskalakes, throughout the country in their RV with their pets, whom they treated like family.
Kathie was employed by Commonwealth Telephone later becoming Frontier Communications until her retirement.
In addition to her parents and late husband, Kathie was preceded in death by her sister Ann Marie Tripp, her infant brother Francis Zabresky and her niece Laurie Zabresky.
Kathie is survived by her brothers Thomas Zabresky, Jr. (wife Mary) and Michael Zabresky, Sr.; nieces Attorney Janelle Zabresky (Atlanta), Dr. Katie Tripp (Florida), Rachel Degnan (husband Jay), Annastina Von Schmeling; nephews Johnathan Zabresky (wife Ann Marie), Michael Zabresky, Jr. (wife Courtney); and her two trusted and loving dogs Louie and Dixie.
Friends may call Thursday, July 8 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 9, 2021 at Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake, at 10:30 a.m.
