James Rom

James Matthew Rom, 79, Harveys Lake, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre with his wife and children at his bedside. Born in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late John and Bertha Majerle Rom and was a graduate of Salesian High School, Detroit. James was an Overhead Crane operator with Ryerson Steel Company until his retirement.

Mr. James Rom was a member of the Masonic Lodge #120 F&AM, Hartford. His favorite pass times were traveling to the beach with his wife and family, spending time with his grandchildren, and sharing his lap with his 2 mini dachshund puppies. It was rare to find James without a smile on his face, and he had the biggest heart.  He very proudly served his country in the Army and was a Vietnam Veteran.  One of James’s proudest accomplishments was being a member of the Presidential Honor Guard.

James was preceded in death by his sister, Loraine Razzaque. Surviving are his wife of 22 years, the former Elaine Heise. Daughters, Melissa Perez, Clarks Summit, Kimberly Kuzma and her husband Nicholas, Dallas, and Shannon Carlisle and her partner of many years, Ronnie Cordell, Georgia. Son, Adam Perez and his wife Kolia, Lake Winola. 12 Grandchildren. Sister, Nancy Balsden. Brothers, Dennis and Kenneth and his wife Patricia Rom.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Friends may call from 9:30 AM until time of service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H.
