George Rogers, Jr.

October 27, 1939 — November 21, 2020

George L. Rogers, Jr., 81, Tunkhannock, passed away, Saturday, November 21, 2020 at The Gardens at Tunkhannock. He was the son of the late George L. and E. Fern Howell Rogers and was a graduate of Lehman Jackson  Ross High School.

George was a member of Lehman Idetown United Methodist Church, as well as, a member of the Lehman Osage Lodge and  the Lehman Volunteer Fire Company.  While living in Delaware he was an active member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce.  After his retirement, he was a volunteer with the North branch Land Trust and was involved in their Noxen train station endeavor.

George worked in the tri state area installing institutional cabinets.  He also, completed construction laser training in Arizona.  He was a talented woodworker, restoring antiques, as well as, creating antique reproductions.

George was preceded in death by his wife, the former Wanda Green, in 1984 and a brother, Jon Rogers in 2012.   Surviving are his sisters, Karen Perrego and Dianne Ralston; brother, Tom Rogers; sister-in-law, Robin Rogers and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 27, 2020 at 11:00 Am at Mount Greenwood Cemetery with The Rev. Lora Kyler, pastor, Lehman Idetown Methodist Church, officiating.
