Elizabeth Jean Mulloy was born on March 27, 1940 at the General Hospital in Wilkes-Barre and passed away peacefully in her sleep early in the morning on Tuesday June 23, 2020 at the River Run Nursing Facility on Wyoming Avenue in Kingston. She was the second of four children of the late Hugh Patrick and Ellen Meagher Mulloy. She was predeceased by her son, Sean, and her brother John, and is survived by her older sister, Ellen Mulloy Fiato (George); brother, the Honorable Patrick A. Mulloy (Marjorie); as well as nephews, Michael Fiato (Cara) and Dr. Daniel P. Mulloy (Michele); nieces, Dr. Maura A.Mulloy (Jonathon Anderson); Claire Parker (Andrew); Scout Orr, (James), and Katie Mosher (Kyle); and numerous grand nieces and grand nephews.
She grew up on Landon Avenue in Kingston and loved the activities at the nearby Reese Park in the summers of the 1940’s and 1950’s. She was graduated from the West Side Central Catholic High School in its first graduating class in 1958 where she was a cheerleader for her beloved Queensmen. For many years she resided at 91 Midland Drive in Dallas Pa., where she hosted family members for numerous Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners throughout the decades. As she aged and her health failed, she resided comfortably under the loving care of the staff at the River Run Nursing Facility in her wonderful hometown of Kingston, Pa. She was a long time member of the Gate of Heaven parish in Dallas.
Funeral mass will be held Monday, June 29, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Gate of Heaven Church, 42 Machell Avenue, Dallas 18704. Friends may call Monday June 29 at Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM. Interment will be at the Mulloy family gravesite at Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas where she will rest in peace next to her son, Sean, and her younger brother, John. With the current COVID 19 regulation still in place, masks will be required and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
