Edward Kearney, Sr.

Edward (Ed) F. Kearney, 95 of Dallas, PA passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 10, 2023 at the Meadows Nursing Home.

Ed was a 62-year resident of Dallas, who was born in Jenkins Township and raised in DuPont.  He graduated Saint John’s High School, Pittston and then served in the US Army post-WWII peacekeeping forces.  Ed graduated from Syracuse University with a BS in Business Management and was a member of the Syracuse Lacrosse and Boxing Teams.  He was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, VFW, American Legion and Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH).

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Cecelia (Dziuba) Kearney, brother John J. Kearney and was the son of the late John & Mary (Keefe) Kearney.

Surviving are his sons, Ed and his wife, Anne Marie (Krznaric), McLean, Va.; John, Dallas and Tom and his wife, Deb (Cartier), Mahwah, N.J.; eight grandchildren, Brian, Carolyn (Stone), Daniel, Brendan, Katherine (Kuzmik), Joseph, Michael and Kevin Kearney; eleven great-grandchildren, Emily, Brooke and Adam Kearney, Benjamin, Harrison and Isabelle Stone, Amelia and William Kearney, Aiden and Alessandra Kearney and William Kuzmik.  He is also survived by his sister-in-law Marianne (Dziuba) Kocylowski, Bear Creek.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 29th from Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, March 28th at the Funeral Home or Wednesday, March 29th from 9 to10 AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM in Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas, with the Rev. Kevin Nadolski, OSFS,  a close family friend officiating. Entombment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at disquefuneralhome.com
