Dale Major

Dale Rosser Major, 78, a life long resident of Shavertown, passed away, Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Allison and Virginia Rosser Major. He had attended Dallas Area School District.

He is survived by this wife of 53 years, Bonnie Monahan Major. Sister Phyllis Major Billings (Dave); Brother, Larry Allison Major (Kay Ann, dec.) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.                                                                        Dale was employed within the custodial department at Lake Lehman High School before his retirement.  He also worked at General Cigar, Kingston in his earlier years.  His many hobbies included building bird houses and other wood working projects. He also enjoyed working in his vegetable garden. Dale especially liked growing tomatoes which he shared with family and friends.

Dale had a good heart and was always willing to help anyone in need.  He liked people and enjoyed going to Burger King in Shavertown for his morning coffee where he visited with his best friend, Russ.

Graveside services will be held at Lehman Center Cemetery, Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 11:00 Am.  Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc. 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, PA. 18612. Online condolences may be sent to Disquefuneralhome.com.
