Angela W. Raub, 98, Dallas, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital. Born in Paddington, England, she was the daughter of the late William and Rita Gillham Wiffen.
Educated in England, Angela was in the ATS, attached to the Royal Corps of Signal when she met her future husband, Ted, who was with the US Army 82nd Airborne and preparing for D-Day. They were married on November 14, 1944 in Cirencester, England.
Angela had a great love for animals, and was a volunteer for the SPCA. During that time, she would visit nursing homes with an animal from the Shelter. She loved feeding and watching birds and her beloved dogs. A woman of strong faith, Angela was a member of Gate of Heaven Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.
Angela was preceded in death by her husband Edwin “Ted” Raub and a daughter, Rita Kalinosky. Surviving are her daughter, Beth Bessmer and her husband Ned, Trucksville; Son, Ted Raub, Jr., Dallas; Grandchildren, Caity Banks (Bryan), Collin Bessmer (Kayla), James and Lynn Kalinosky; great grandchildren Amelia, Paige, Audrey and Hadley Banks; Micah, Hannah and Emma Bessmer.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of her family. Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Cemetery.
