Zachary S. Scalfer

March 30, 2026 — February 12, 2026

Kingston

Zachary S. Scalfer, 13, Kingston, passed away, Saturday February 12, 2026 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. Born in Wilkes-Barre on March 30, 2012, he was the son of Anthony Scalfer and Amie Jasterzenski. He had attended Wyoming Valley West Middle School and was in the 8th grade.

Zac played violin in the W.V.W. Middle School orchestra and had a passion for creating content as an enthusiastic You Tuber and Tik Tok creator. He was very proud of the videos he would not only record, but also edit on his own; creating content was his absolute true passion. Zac had ambitions of working and took pride in grass cutting to make some extra money along with wanting to find another summer job this upcoming summer.

Zac enjoyed gaming on his PS5 and MetaQuest VR console. His favorite games were Roblox, Minecraft, Animal Company and Gorilla Tag. Zac had a love for classic cars and was talking about pursuing automotive shop at West Side Tech. If you knew Zac, you heard everything about the Five Nights at Freddy’s lore. He would talk for hours about Five Nights at Freddy’s, and was so ecstatic when the second movie came out. Zac enjoyed eating Middleswarth BBQ chips and constantly asked for chocolate chip mint ice cream even in the middle of winter.

Zac was the kind and compassionate brother. He always set time aside to be with his siblings and always made sure he spent time with each one of them. Zac was a people pleaser all around. He would always try to make sure everyone around him was happy even at his own expense. His energy was infectious; whenever Zac was in the room you knew it and inevitably gravitated towards it. With his beautiful deep brown eyes, always styled hair and wonderful smile, his physical appearance matched his personality.

With the last efforts to try to save Zachary’s life, he was able to give the gift of life to three others by donating his organs. This is something Zac would have loved, to have helped others and the world to know him as a hero.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his step father David Moran, step mother Deirdra, a sister, Rylee Moran and a step-sister Coraline.
