Thomas F. Layden, Jr.

Thomas F. Layden, Jr., 72, Tunkhannock, passed away, Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at his residence. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Thomas and Susan Hoeffner Layden and was a graduate of St. Nicholas High School, Wilkes-Barre.

Thomas was a member of Local #44 Sheet Metal Workers Union for many years until his retirement. He was a devoted member of both Root Hollow Lodge Hunting Club and Sugar Bush Lodge. He had a passion for hunting, gardening, antiquing, and riding what he called his Kubota Jazzy.

Thomas was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Mercadante. Surviving is his wife, Jean (Mehm) Layden at home. Daughters, Ann Guse and her husband John Paul, Scranton; Susan Vitanovec and her husband George, Shavertown; Sons, Scott Layden and his wife Esther, Sierra Vista, AZ; Patrick Layden and his wife Molly Scott Twp; Sister, Susan Gianni; Grandchildren, Haley Hunsinger, Allison Vitanovec, Stephanie, Jordan, Rachel and Hunter Layden.

Memorial service will be held Sunday, November, 23, 2025 at 2:00 PM from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, Pa 18612. with The Rev. Vincent Dang, officiating.
