Shirley Ide

Shirley M. Ide, 94, Dallas, passed away, Monday, September 4, 2017 at The Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. Born in Shavertown, she was the daughter of the late George and Myrtle Misson Swan and was a graduate of Kingston Township High School class of 1940 and Nesbitt Memorial Hospital School of Nursing class of 1945. Shirley worked as an RN with Maimonides Hospital, Liberty, N.Y. before getting married. After the children were in school she worked on Second South with Nesbitt Memorial Hospital. She was a member of The Lehman-Idetown United Methodist Church and also a member of The Lehman-Idetown Couples Club. Her greatest hobby was sewing for her family. Her handiwork also included knitting, crocheting, and embroidery. Countless newborn babies were gifted sweater sets. She was preceded in death by her husband Elwood C. Ide, Sr. in 2012, brothers, Ralph and Edward "Bud" and sister, Arvilla. Surviving are daughters, Phyllis Sorber and her husband Bradley, Sweet Valley, Audrey Ide, Dallas, Son, Elwood C. Ide and his wife Leslie, Arlington, WA., 5 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. The funeral will be held Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 10:00 Am from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with The Rev. Lori Robinson, pastor, Lehman-Idetown United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Wyoming. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm. Donations may be made to The Lehman-Idetown United Methodist Church, c/o 1011 Mountain View Drive, Lehman or to The Meadows Nursing Center, c/o 4 E. Center Hill Road, Dallas, Pa. 18612.
