Scott Carter

October 5, 1960 — February 20, 2017

Scott A. Carter, 56, of Dallas passed away, Monday, February 20, 2017 after a long and courageous battle, at Regional Hospital, Scranton. Born in Wilkes Barre, he was the son of Donald E. Carter and the late Lois Jean Davies Carter. He was a graduate of Dallas High School and attended Penn State University. Scott was a carpenter by trade and had worked for many years at Offset Paperback. Scott was a member of Gate of Heaven Church. He was also a member of The Knights of Columbus. Scott was a long time beloved coach with the Back Mountain Little League. He also worked for the Lake Lehman School District, as their Junior High Wrestling and Baseball coach for many years. He was best known as "Coach Carter". One of Scott's other passions was restoring old cars. Surviving are his wife Rina Carter (They just celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary), Daughter, Kristel Carter-Sell and her husband Todd, Nazareth, PA., Sons, Scott Carter, Jr., Trucksville, and Jeffrey Carter, Dallas. Grandchildren, Carter Levi & Noah Patrick Sell. Sister, Sherri Carter, Brothers, Don Carter & wife, Kathie, Jeff Carter & wife Michelle along with his "sister wives", Rose Ann, Annie & Becky Crisci, and Mark Carter. Mother & Father in-law, Ellen Tomchak and the late Stanley Tomchak. Brother & Sister in-law, Gary & Lynn Menn. Godchildren, Michael Menn, and Rose Carter. Nieces & nephews, Rose, Lori, Don, late Sean Carter, Michael, Marissa, Kristopher, Bryan, & Mark. Beloved family friends, Tom and Sunny Cesarini & John Konicki & Family. Constant Companions, Rocky & Apollo. He was a loving husband, father, PopPop, brother, uncle, son, coach and friend to many. Funeral will be held Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 10:00 am from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas with Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas with The Rev., Daniel Toomey, & Deacon, Tom Cesarini, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 pm at the Funeral Home. Donations in Scott's memory may be made at the Funeral Home.
