Scott Irving Alexander, 75, Sweet Valley, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at his residence. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late James and Marian Jean Alexander and was a graduate of Dallas High School 2nd in his class of 1966.
Scott studied Metallurgical Engineering at Lehigh University where he established lifelong friendships. Graduating in 1970. Upon graduation he was hired by RCA and spent 25 years in over 15 location and in Europe. After retiring from RCA he spent his last working years in NYC with Verizon.
Scott was an accomplished pianist playing everything from classical music to blues and jazz with his own band. Additionally Scott was an avid outdoorsman having climbed, hiked, and camped in every state in the US (Except Hawaii). He also enjoyed 100’s of hours boating on the Saint Lawrence River. Finally – cooking and making bread…that was a passion for everyday or special occasions for friends and family. Since 1983 Scott made Sweet Valley his home base regardless of where he was working.
Scott is survived by his wife the former Lois Attalla at home. Sister, Leslie Drayer and her husband Jan. Niece, Leah Cook and her husband Jose. Nephew, Jon Drayer and his wife Natalie. Great nieces and nephews, Isaac, Isabelle, Ezekiel, Kennedy, Peyton, and Cameron.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. If so inclined, donations can be made in Scott’s memory to Sweet Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Sweet Valley, PA., 18656 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
