Ruthann Rogers

          Ruthann Rogers, 65, a life long resident of Vernon, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023 at her residence. Born in Wilkes-Barre on January 7, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Audrey Shupp Rogers. She was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School.

       Ruthann had attended the Centermoreland Baptist Church with her mother. She was a long time employee at the Meadows Nursing Center. At the Meadows Ruthann loved serving and caring for the residents who greatly appreciated her service.

        Ruthann was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Donald and John Rogers. Surviving are her sisters, Kay Love and her husband Richard, Dallas, Audrey Abramson and her husband Philip, Boca Raton, FL, sister-in-law, Bonnie, Centermoreland, brothers Leon Rogers and his wife Joan, Tunkhannock, Carl Rogers and his wife Kathi, East Barre, VT, and Alan Rogers and his wife Diana, Marcellus, NY. She very much loved her eighteen nieces and nephews, many of whom she provided care as toddlers and young children. Her twenty-eight great-nieces and great-nephews also were beloved and a source of joy. For many years she also helped take care of her parents.

         Ruthann endured myotonic dystrophy without complaint her entire life. Spending time with family was very important to Ruthann, including taking trips to visit family. She also enjoyed touring zoos and animal parks. Around the house, she was a faithful NFL viewer. Classic television shows were a favorite, too. Puzzle books were a frequent activity.

        Funeral service will be held, Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. Pastor James Howell will be officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM at the Disque Funeral Home.
