Roger W. Meier, 81, Dallas, passed away, Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at his residence with his wife by his side. Born in Goodrich, ND, he was the son of the late Herman and Anna Hahn Meier and was a graduate of Tuttle High School, ND.
Roger was the head of the Maintenance Department for Campbell’s Soup in Sacramento, CA for over 30 years until his retirement. He had served his country proudly in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam conflict. He was a member of The Harvey's Lake American Legion, Post 967. Roger was also a member of Plaid Community Church, Pittston. He was an active member of the church. He and his wife enjoyed traveling, especially cruising over the years. Roger was very proud of his antique vehicles including a 1928 Ford Model “A”. He enjoyed working on his cars and various other projects. Roger and his wife enjoyed boating on Harvey's Lake and spending time in their boathouse.
Roger was preceded in death by brothers, Delane and Gerald Meier. Surviving are his wife, the former Una Sasse at home. Daughter, Joyce McCormack and her husband Johnny, Benson Az. Sons: Rodger Meier and his significant other Michele Coonzales, Rancho Cordova CA, Ross Meier and his wife Kimberly, Sacramento CA, Ryan Meier and his wife Michelle, Eldorado Hills CA. Several grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. Also surviving are a step-daughter Cherise Pokorny and her husband Joseph. Grandson, Landon Pokorny. Sisters Carol Baille and Sheree Wolf. Brothers, Arlin, Dennis, and Randy Meier.
Memorial service will be held, Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Plaid Community Church, 1575 River Road, Jenkins Twp at 2:00 PM. Friends may call at the church from 1:00 PM until time of service. Military Honors will be performed at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, Pa. 18612.
