Dallas

Randolph John Pilc, 88 years old, passed away on September 26, 2025. He was the devoted husband of Elaine Joy Poukish, having been happily married for 28 years. Randy was born in Queens, NY, to John Pilc, Jr. and Marie Dvorak Pilc, where he grew up with sister, Karen, (now deceased). Randy had two sons, Gary and Roger, a daughter-in-law, Mary Beth, and two grandsons, Matthew and James, all from CT. He was a tremendous father and grandfather. Randy also had two nieces, Sharon and Lisa, as well as numerous extended family on the Poukish side. Randy loved them all very much.

Randy attended The City College of New York, New York University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, receiving Engineering Degrees from each and earning his PhD in Electrical Engineering from MIT. He had a successful career for 39 years with AT&T, mostly with Bell Laboratories, working primarily on data communications and receiving a number of patents. After retirement in 1999, Randy and Elaine moved to Dallas, PA, and established their homestead. They loved taking care of their home and property, including creating an arboretum with many beautiful trees. Randy always appreciated the help he received from special neighbors and helpers of the homestead.

Randy and Elaine traveled extensively in the United States and Canada, lingering in their favorite mountain railroad towns Truckee, CA, and Jasper, Alberta. He loved to plan, in great detail, these adventures. Randy and Elaine were married in Tahoe City, CA, another favorite location. Both had joy with photography and creating travel calendars for the family. Randy loved cooking special meals for family, including old family favorites and made-to-order breakfasts. He loved math and enjoyed solving complex equations and problems. He also loved sports, was an excellent softball player and Little League coach. Randy especially loved rooting for the New York Mets. Right before passing away, Randy was happily watching a Mets game and enjoying a delicious Black and White cookie. He was very much at peace. What a wonderful life.

The family wishes to thank Dr. John Carey and Hospice of the Sacred Heart. The support that Dr. Carey provided to Randy and family was wonderful and deeply appreciated. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, PA, A family scattering of Randy’s ashes will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
