Phyllis C. Bednar

Phyllis C. Bednar, 95, Dallas, passed away, Saturday, May 30, 2026 at The Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Bruno and Catherine Kavetski Bugay and was a graduate of Luzerne High School.

Phyllis was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas. She was a homemaker and was very proud of the home she created while raising her children. Some of her favorite activities were pond fishing, caring for her beautiful flower gardens, traveling with her husband, card games with friends, and casino days.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Bednar in 2011. Daughter, Karen Bahara and son, Brian Charles Bednar. Brothers, Norman, Raymond, and Zigmund Bugay, John Golembeski. Sisters, Helen Stravinski, Violet Kovalchick, and Jennie Stankowski. Surviving are her daughters, Charlene Schmid and her husband Joseph, Shavertown and Linda Bednar, Plains. 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, Pa 18612.
