Paul J. F. "Pat" Salansky

Paul J.F. “Pat“ Salansky, 98, Lake Twp., passed away, Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at his residence. Born in Jackson Twp., he was the son of the late Stephen and Catherine Novak Salansky and was a graduate of Lake Lehman High School.

Pat was a caretaker of the estates of Frank Henry family and Martz Trailways as well as Senator TN Wood, Huntsville Nursery, and Walnut Ridge Farms. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake. Harveys Lake American Legion Post 967.

Pat was preceded in death by his wife, the former Sue Carol Harron in 2018. Daughters, Jane Onzik and Susanne Apgar as well as seven brothers and four sisters. Surviving is his son, Paul J. Salansky, Dallas and Son-in-law David Onzik. 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Some of his vast experiences including serving in the military as a medic and MP in the Korean War. Pat also played semi-pro baseball for Dallas Dairy and American Legion Teams. He later went on to play for the Boston Braves and was in spring training with Hank Aaron.

Pat also found pleasure in hunting, ice and fresh water fishing, trapping, playing cards, gardening, bird watching, and inviting friends and family to the barn for “tasting” of his hard cider. Pat’s wish to remain in his farmhouse until his last day was fulfilled.
