Mary Petty

Mary A. Petty, 87, Trucksville, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Regional Hospital, Scranton. Born October 6, 1929 in Nutley, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Speckheart Arnt and was a graduate of Kingston Twp. High School. Mary worked in the Garment industry for many years as a seamstress. She was a member of St. Therese's Church, Shavertown and was an active member of the Altar and Rosary Society of the Church. Most recently Mary had worked for Hill The Florist. Mary married the love of her life, Edward Petty on October 8, 1949 and celebrated 67 years of marriage. Surviving along with Edward, her husband are, daughters, Rosemary Bray, Tewksbury, MA., Barbara Petty, Columbia, MO., Susan Van Horn and her husband Ed, Dallas, Grandsons, Thomas and Samuel Van Horn. Sister, Frances Ochman. Mary was most proud of her time spent caring for her two grandsons, Tom and Sam. Funeral will be held Monday, July 17, 2017 at 9:30 am From The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with Funeral Mass at 10:00 Am at St. Therese's Church, Shavertown with The Rev. James Paisley, pastor St, Therese's Church, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 6 PM. At the Funeral Home.
