Marguerite Cartier

Marguerite Cartier, 87, of Okeechobee, Fla., formerly of Dallas, passed away, Friday, September 23, 2016 in Okeechobee Fla. Born in Richmond Vt., she was the daughter of the late Gideon and Leonide Dutil Noel and was a graduate of Richmond High School, Richmond VT. and Burlington Business College, Burlington, VT. In her early days Marguerite had worked for The Harvard University Press Staff in Boston. After raising her family, she worked for Ruth K. Smith Realty and later as the Secretary to the Dean of Students at College Misericordia for 10 years until her retirement. Marguerite was a former member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas and was very active in The Altar and Rosary Society. She had volunteered with The Red Cross Blood Bank. One of her greatest joys was being a Girl Scout Leader. She and her husband Robert loved traveling and had visited all 50 states. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Cartier, Brothers, Claude Noel, Silvio Noel, and Paul Noel, Sisters, Blanche Boucher, Bea Cox, and son-in-law, Charles Yurkon, and brother-in-law, Al Cartier, Jr. She is survived by son, Robert Cartier and his wife Kim, Glen Rock, Pa., daughter Cheryl Alliger and her husband Bruce, Okeechobee, Fla., Mary Ellen Dillon and her husband John, Gastonia, NC., Carol Yurkon, Karen Cartier and her husband Rick Frantz, and Barbara Kreidler and her husband Jim, all of Dallas, and Debora Kearney and her husband Tom, Mahwah, NJ., brothers, Clement Noel and Albert Noel. Sisters, Bertha LaCroix, Cecile LaPorte, Claire Beauchemin, and Jane Geiger. 16 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Pauline Cartier. Funeral will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 10:00 AM at The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with The Rev. Thomas Cesarini, Gate of Heaven Church, officiating. Entombment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
