Lois Bittinger

July 31, 1931 — May 23, 2017

Lois Bosley Bittinger, 85, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from complications of COPD and Alzheimer"s Disease. Born in Wilkes Barre, PA, she was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School and a member of the Parsons Primitive Methodist Church, but lived most of her life in "Beautiful Downtown Greene NY" where she and her husband George chose to settle and raise their family. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, UCC in Greene for over 60 years. Professionally Lois worked as a secretary, retiring from her last position as executive secretary for the principal of the Greene Central School District in 1996. Lois was preceded in death by her parents John and Elizabeth Bosley,and and by her devoted husband George K. Bittinger. She is survived by her daughters Kathy (Timothy) Donahue, Kai Norma (Gary Gorence) Bittinger, Joyce (Tamar Arbel) Bittinger, her granddaughter Sarah (Kim) Donahue, and her sister Miriam Jennings and family. She will be so missed by her many friends and by the people who loved and cared for her in her home at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Virginia Beach, VA. Funeral will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, PA, with calling hours from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest at the Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville, PA. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the First Congregational Church, UCC, 28 N.Chenango St,, Greene, NY. Donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org. Lois loved her family, she loved her coffee, she loved the beach, and her favorite color was red.
