Lillian V. Saba-McManus

    Lillian V. Saba-McManus, 90 of Newberry Estates, Dallas, passed away, Sunday, January 28, 2024. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late William Saba and Marie Hawthorne Saba.

    Lillian was a graduate of Meyers High School. She was a member of St. Mary’s Syrian Orthodox Church, Wilkes-Barre where in her younger years she served as Church Secretary. After marriage to her husband John, she attended Bennett Presbyterian Church, Luzerne and later became a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Dallas. Lillian and her husband John owned and operated several business, Campus Pizza and McManus Bus Lines but were mostly known for their famous McManus Homemade Pasties.

    Lillian was very active in local organizations. While raising her family in Harveys Lake, she was a member of the Harveys Lake American Legion Auxiliary. She served many years in the Newberry Estates Women’s Golf League. She was awarded the Women’s Golf League Championship during that time.

     Lillian was also a proud member and secretary of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also a member of the Harveys Lake Women’s Club and the Back Mountain Library. 

     Lillian was preceded in death by her husband John McManus of 63 years, Brothers, John and Robert Saba and sisters, Connie Voss and Margaret Malta.

    Surviving are her daughters, Kathy Moretti, Taryn and her husband Jim, Barrall. Jacqueline and her husband Bob Cook and Erin Yatsko. 5 Grandchildren; Olivia Barrall, Larry Moretti, Kyndra Lutz-Visco, Ana Lutz-Johnson of California and Jacob Yatsko. She had one great granddaughter, Molly Johnson of California. Surviving are sisters, Dorothy Obeid, Florida and Carol Hershey, North Carolina the last of the “Magnificent Seven” and many loving nieces and nephews.

      Funeral Service will be held privately from The Richard Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, Pa. 18612.On line condolences may be made at Disquefuneralhome.com Donations if desired may be made with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
