Leona Huntz

Leona P. Huntz, 83, Dallas, passed away, Friday, July 14, 2017 at The Meadows Nursing Center. Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late John and Eleanor Tinsley Pugh and had attended the Kingston Schools. Leona had worked at area Cigar Manufacturers including General Cigar. She had also worked at College Misericordia and Mercy Center for some time in Dallas. Leona was a member of The Shavertown United Methodist Church. She was also active with The Brown Baggers, Happy Times Singers and Dallas Senior Citizens, and The Red Hats Society. Leona had also volunteered many hours with The Meadows Nursing Center. Leona was preceded in death by her husband Henry S. Huntz in 2007, Sisters, Shirley Crispell, Eleanor Luksa and an infant sister. Brother, Jack Pugh. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 10:00 am from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with The Rev. Judy Walker, Pastor, Shavertown United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Orcutt's Cemetery, Noxen. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM.
