Lawrence R. Stash, 83, Shavertown, passed away, Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late Joseph and Agnes Levaj Stash and was a graduate of Lake Lehman High School.
He was a lineman with Sordoni Construction and later with Asplundh Construction before his retirement. He was a member of St. John The Baptist Church, Larksville and also a member of IBEW.
From an early age, Larry enjoyed the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, and camping occupied much of his spare time. An avid gardener, he was generous with his harvest, gifting friends and neighbors with fresh produce and homemade cider. Along with his wife Dorothy, he was the center of the family, always hosting and cooking for holiday and other gatherings. A skilled carpenter and mason, he was involved in the construction of three family homes. Larry had an exceptional math ability, enjoyed gaming, and developed many close friendships in the process. He will be forever loved and missed by family and friends. Along with his many pass times, one favorite was rooting for his Pennsylvania teams, Phillies and Eagles.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife the former Dorothy Samuels in 2015 and a son Joseph Kevin Stash and a brother Robert Stash. Surviving are his daughter Susanne O’Donnell and her husband Richard, Shavertown. Sons, Lawrence Stash and his wife Karri, Delaware, Michael Stash and his wife Susanne, Dallas. Grandchildren, Nathan O’Donnell, Grace O’Donnell, Jacob Stash, Sierra Stash, Alina Kimble, Claire Moosberg, and Sophie Moosberg. Sister, Theresa Sarmonis and her husband Peter. Sister-in-law, Helen Stash.
Friends may call Friday June 19, 2026, from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, PA with Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. John The Baptist Church, Larksville. Interment will be in St. John The Baptist Cemetery, Larksville.
