Lawrence M. Polachek, Sr., 81, Dallas, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025 at his residence. Born in New River, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Michael and Tessie Organek Polachek and was a graduate of Dallas High School. After high school, he completed General Electric’s Apprenticeship Program for Machinists.
Larry went on to work for Bendix Corporation until 1972 and then for Quality Metal Products as a supervisor for 38 years before his retirement in 2009. He had owned and operated CT Cycles, repairing and selling motorcycles for many years. He also owned and operated L and M Gun Shop with his father Michael.
In his free time, Larry was an avid hunter, golfer, and fisherman. He was a lifetime member of The Harvey’s Lake Rod and Gun Club, as well as the Sarasota Trap Skeet and Sporting Clays, Inc. when he lived in Florida. Larry was also a member of The Orange United Methodist Church.
Surviving is his wife of 61 years, the former Judith Bulkley. Daughter, Christy Millham and her husband Brant, North East, MD. Sons, Lawrence Polachek and his wife Catherine, Dallas; David Polachek, Larksville; Michael Polachek and his wife Jennifer, Shavertown; Jeffrey Polachek and his wife Ann, Brighton, CO. He is also survived by his 8 Grandchildren Natalie, Jennifer, Emily, Amy, Calvin, Sam, Lukas, and Madison, as well as 5 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, Pa. Online condolences may be made at Disquefuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to make a donation to the ASPCA in honor of Larry’s love for cats.
