Joseph E. Szewczyk

Joseph E. Szewczyk, 89, Lehman, passed away, Friday, October 10, 2025 at Kadima at Lakeside Nursing Center. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Walter and Tessi Gralla Szewczyk.

Joseph was a Tool and Die maker with Techniglass, formerly Owens Illinois before his retirement. He was a member of Gate of Heaven Church. Joseph was also a member of Daddow Isaacs American Legion post #672, Dallas. He was very active with Hi Lites antique car club. He would spend much of his early years hunting and fishing. Joseph had served his country proudly with the Marine Corp. during the Korean Conflict.

Joseph was preceded in death by brothers, Walter and Daniel. Surviving is his wife, the former Thelma Kemmerer. Also surviving are his children, Debra Cave and her husband George, Dallas, Lenny Martin his wife Julie, Harlan IN, Michael Szewczyk and his fiance Jeanne, Drums, Allan Szewczyk and his wife Terri, Falls. Joseph has five surviving grandchildren, Suzanne, Kyllian, Bry, Nicholas, Justyn, and five great-grandchildren, Roman, Hukson, Weston, Tukker, and Madeline.

Funeral service will be held Monday, October 13, 2025 at 10:00 AM from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, Pa 18612. Funeral Mass will be Monday at 10:30 AM at Gate of Heaven Church, Matchell Ave., Dallas. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Duryea. Friends may call Sunday from 5 to 7 PM.
