Joseph A. Galchefski, 80, Scranton, passed away, Sunday, November 23, 2025 at Gino Merli Veterans Center, Scranton. Born in Larksville, he was the son of the late Martin and Anna Beskit Galchefski and was a graduate of Larksville High School.

Joseph served his country proudly with the US Army and being awarded the bronze star during the Vietnam conflict. Joe was an Iron Worker with Local Union #401 Iron Workers Union. Some of his favorite hobbies were cars, all sorts of sports and outdoor activities with hunting and fishing.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife the former Lorraine Langan in 2013. Sisters, Mary Ann Randall and Margaret Knowlton. Surviving is his daughter, Lorraine Veneziale, Grandson, Jason Veneziale. Sister, Patricia Wenrich. Brothers, Martin, Steven, and John Galchefski. Four nieces and six nephews.

Funeral service with military honors will be Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Chaple Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, Pa 18612. The family would like to thank the staff of Gino Merli Veterans Center for the excellent care given to Joe.
