John Gula

John G. Gula, 88, Dallas, passed away, Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Kadima Nursing Center, Dallas. Born in Luzerne, he was the son of the late John and Susan Blaker Gula and attended St. John’s School, Luzerne.

John was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas. He was a truck driver with Lau Slav until his retirement and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 401 Truck drivers. He had also worked part time with the Citizen’s Voice newspaper. John was a member of Daddow Isaacs American Legion Post 672, Dallas. He was also active with local bowling and dart leagues. John was an avid Notre Dame fan. John had served his country proudly with the Army in Korea.

John was preceded in death by sisters, Anna Mae Lorentz and Susanne Giarratano. Surviving is his wife of 61 years, the former Jane Capwell at home. Daughters, Jacqueline Love and her husband Mark, Hunlock Creek, Joan Strazdus, Dallas. Son, John G. Gula, Orlando, Fla. 6 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandson. Sister Rose Medash.
