Joann Wright

Joann M. Wright, 66, Shavertown, passed away, Friday, February 23, 2018 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Wyoming, she was the daughter of the late John and Carmella Serino Passucci and was a graduate of Wyoming Area High School and had also attended Wilkes College.

She was a receptionist at The Meadows Nursing Center and volunteered at the nursing center for many years. Joann was a member of St, Therese’s Church, Shavertown. She had taught religious studies at the church. She was a member of The Ladies Auxiliary of Jackson Fire Department, The Ladies Auxiliary of Daadow Isaacs American Legion Post #672, Dallas.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Donald J. Wright at home, Son, Brian Wright, Shavertown, Sisters, Ann Marie Groko and Florence Lugar. Brother, John Passucci. Several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 6:00 PM at The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with Rev. James Paisley, Pastor, St. Therese’s Church, officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton at a later time.  Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 6 pm at the Funeral Home.  Donations in Joann’s memory may be sent to the choice of the donor.
