Jestie Edwards

Ida J. Edwards, 96, Dallas, passed away, Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Northmoreland Twp., she was the daughter of the late Clarence B. Schoonover and Georgia Ruth Weaver and was a graduate of Dallas Twp. High School. She was a member of The CenterMoreland United Methodist Church.

She was a secretary for WestMoreland Elementary School for some time as well as Voitek TV and Sardoni Construction. When her children were younger she was the President of the PTA. She very much enjoyed quilting and collecting milk glass.

She was preceded in death by her husband Almerian Curtis Edwards in 2000 and brothers, Stacy and Gene Schoonover. She is survived by her daughters, Constance Higgins and her husband Dennis, Easton, Pa., and Dr. Gail Evans and her husband Dr. David, Dallas. Grandchildren, Emmett Higgins and his wife Teresa, Jestie and Liam Higgins, Kyle, Brooke, and Curtis Evans. Great Grandchild, Rhys Higgins. Brother, Clarence Schoonover.

Funeral will be held Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 11:00Am from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with The Rev. Harold Shorr, pastor, CenterMoreland United Methodist Church, officiating, Private Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 PM.
