James Harry (LB) Snyder

James Harry (LB) Snyder, 76, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Maple Ridge Nursing Center where he had been a resident for the past two years. Born in Easton, he was the son of the late Charles and Mildred Harrison Snyder and was a graduate of Dallas High School class of 1966.

James had previously resided in Dallas, Shavertown, and Meadows Apartments. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and was a Deacon of the church for many years. James had been employed with Fowler Dick and Walker Boston Store and late Boscov’s for 40 years. He would volunteer much of his time with The Back Mountain Library Auction and the church rummage sales. James was also a member of the Dallas Kiwanis Club. James was an avid Penn State Fan and would collect Penn State Memorabilia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Shaver, brother, Charles (Duke) Snyder. Nephew, George (Skip) Shaver. Niece, Patsy Traver Nulton, Great Nephew, Christopher Clay Traver Long.

He is survived by a sister, Irene Traver, Harveys Lake. Nieces, Pamela Long, Harveys Lake. Lisa Willis, Luzerne. Nephews, Thomas Traver, Richard Traver, Robert Traver, Harveys Lake. Brian Traver, Noxen, Thomas Shaver, Tunkhannock, Alan Shaver, Orange. Several other nieces and nephews. Great nieces and nephews and Great Great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at 11:00 AM from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. Entombment will be in Trinity Presbyterian Church Mausoleum. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM. On line condolences may be made at Disquefuneralhome.com
