James Randall (Randy) Loyd, a native of Gonzales, LA, and a resident of Dallas, PA, passed away Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, PA. He was 68 years old.
Randy was born Dec. 13, 1953, in Shreveport, LA. He was a 1971 graduate of East Ascension High School in Gonzales, LA, and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Louisiana State University (LSU) in 1975. Randy enjoyed an extensive retail marketing career before owning and operating the Dallas (PA) Photo Shop. He was an accomplished photographer, and a member of the Dallas (PA) Baptist Church.
Randy is survived by his wife of 38 years, the former Stacy Brown, Dallas, PA; his brothers, Michael Loyd, Kansas City, MO, and Douglas Loyd, Spanish Fort, AL; niece, Rachel Mitchell, Pace, FL; nephews, Duane Bordelon, Baton Rouge, LA, Garrett Gascon, Jacksonville, FL, Carson Gascon, Denham Springs, LA, Jeffrey Loyd, Denham Springs, LA, Andrew Loyd, Fort Mill, SC, and Triston Loyd, Spanish Fort, AL; and several great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his aunt, Betty Harris, Oklahoma City, OK. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph (Red) Loyd and Sara (Jones) Loyd.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Dallas Baptist Church, Dallas, PA. His very close friend, John Doerfler, will be officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Dallas Baptist Church, P.O. Box 5, Dallas, PA 18612.
