Jack A. Schoonover, “Action Jackson”, 64, Harding, formerly of Centermoreland, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 14, 2023 at his residence.
Born May 21, 1958 in Kingston, he was the son of the late Loren and Nona Winters Schoonover and was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School class of 1977. Jack was known to be a hard worker, recently being employed by Nice’s Landscaping and for the past 5 years at Bridon American. He was a beloved father and grandfather (Grandpa Jack) and never missed a birthday, game or big event. Jack was an avid fan of all sports, but his passion was baseball, which started with Little League as a boy and continued with several softball leagues as an adult. One of his favorite past times was teaching his children and grandchildren how to play. He was a faithful Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan and loved to play darts with his friends in local leagues. He was a good man and free spirit who will be missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mother father and sister Nancy. He is survived by his three children, Shane A. Schoonover, his wife Debbie, Old Forge, Amie M. Schoonover, Fort Worth, Texas, Adam M. Schoonover, his wife Tanya, Dallas, his four grandchildren, Nathaniel, Ivan, Arrianna, and Mason. Also survived by his six siblings, Carol Gilpin and her husband James, Terry Schoonover and his wife Shiela, Beverly Orlando, Shirley Grindall and her husband Edward, Dennis Schoonover and his husband Jack, Judy Gudman along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Friday, January 20, 2023 at 7:00 PM from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas with The Rev. Dr. William Lewis, officiating.
