Helen Kaskus

August 22, 1926 — November 28, 2017

Helen S. Kaskus, 91, Tunkhannock, passed away, Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at The Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. Born in Swoyersville, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Hliboky Gula and had attended the Swoyersville School. She was a seamstress for many years with Bocar Manufacturing, Tunkhannock. Helen was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Dallas and was very active in the church as well as the oldest member of St. Paul's. She was a member of and Past Worthy Matron of The Tunkhannock Chapter #74 Order of the Eastern Star and was very active. Helen loved quilting and knitting and crocheting. During W W II, she made parachutes and military uniforms. She would love spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her sisters, Anna Gula Rutski, Mary Gula Matushek, brothers, Andrew, John, Daniel, and George. Surviving are her husband Andrew Kaskus, Jr., daughter, Andrea Kaskus, Vincennes, IN, son, Ronald Kaskus and his wife Donna, Tunkhannock, grandchildren, Nicole Cadwalader and her husband Jason, Gena Beky and her husband Andrew. great grandchildren, Hayden, Elisabeth, Lauren Cadwalader, Michael and Matthew Beky, and sisters, Elizabeth Gula Paris and Emma Gula Horensky. Funeral will be held Saturday, December 2, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Dallas. Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. Donations in Helen's memory may be sent to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, c/o 600 Baltimore Drive, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. 18702.
