Helen B. (Zluky) Dicton, 82, of Shavertown, passed away at home on July 23, 2020, after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Luzerne on April 22, 1938, the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Ungvarsky Zluky. Helen was proceeded in death by her infant brother, Michael Zluky,
and her sister, Anna Kovalick.
She was a graduate of St. John Nepomucene Parochial School and Luzerne High School. Helen started her career at Woodbury in Wilkes-Barre, later working for Westinghouse in New Jersey, and retired after finishing her career at Berkheimer Associates in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
Helen’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was extremely proud of the accomplishments of her daughters, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family, and loved spending time with them.
Helen is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, James, daughters Susan Meyer and her husband Jeffrey of Connecticut, and Sandra Boyle and her husband Christopher of Shavertown. She is also survived by a brother Stephen Zluky of New Jersey, her grandchildren Matthew Boyle, Kristen Boyle, Thomas Boyle, Lauren Meyer, and Megan Meyer, and many nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Monday, July 27, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Gate of Heaven Church, Matchell Ave, Dallas. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery, Courtdale. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, Pa. 18612. Due to Covid restrictions, there will be no calling hours at the funeral home.
