Gerald J. Reisch, 77, Luzerne passed away after a short illness, Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Geisinger CMC, Scranton. Born March 28, 1948, in Honesdale, he was the son of the late Joseph and Gladys Korb Reisch. “Jerry” or “Jake” to his family, was a graduate of Honesdale Catholic High School and the University of Scranton with a bachelor’s degree in computer science.
Jerry served proudly in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1971. He was employed with Leslie Fay for 15 years and later with Dawson Consumer Products and Klein Candy. He also created his own consulting group, Sotap Computer Consulting. And most recently, after his retirement, he was employed part-time with Pittston Candy & Cigars.
He was a lifelong baseball fan having played from an early age, later coaching multiple little league teams, and always cheering on his beloved New York Yankees. Jerry was a dedicated Rotarian, starting in the South Wilke-Barre Rotary Club and was a member of the Rotary Club of Dallas since 1995. He served as the club president and acted as the club treasurer for many years. He was an Assistant District Governor of Rotary District 7410 and was the district registrar for a decade. He was also the recipient of several Rotary honors including the Paul Harris Fellowship Award and was District 7410s Rotarian of the Year recipient in 2015. In addition to his service to Rotary, Jerry was a devout member of the Holy Family Parish in Luzerne. He was also a member of and secretary of St. Conrad’s Young Men Society where he enjoyed many hands of pitch and poker.
Gerald was preceded in death by his sister, Alice Noble. He is survived by his daughter Kimberlie Reynolds and her husband Dan. His brother, Robert Reisch and his wife Gail. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, especially his longtime companion, Judy Ide.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Ahmad Hanif and the team at the Frank M and Dorothea Henry Cancer Center, Geisinger Wyoming Valley and the ICU staff of Geisinger CMC for their kindness and compassionate care.
Funeral services with Military Honors will be held Monday, March 30, 2026 at 9:15 AM from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, PA. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish, 574 Bennett Street, Luzerne. Interment will be in Chaple Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the Rotary Club of Dallas, c/o PO Box 149 Dallas, PA 18612.
