Gerald Walter Brunges, 86, formerly of Conyngham, passed away, Saturday, March 4, 2023 at The Pavilion at St. Luke’s Villa, Hazleton. He was the son of the late Walter and Mary Brown Brunges and was a graduate of Dallas High School, class of 1955. While in high school, he was outstanding in sports.
He had resided with his daughter Debra Corradini and her husband Joseph for the last year in Weatherly. Gerald was affiliated with International Paper Company until his retirement. He was a member of Conyngham United Methodist Church. He was a former member of Dallas United Methodist Church. For some time he had worked with Commonwealth Telephone. Some of his favorite loves was basketball, football, hunting, Fishing and gardening. He was very proud of his tomatoes. Gerald had served his country proudly with the Army reserves and later with the Air Force reserves.
Gerald was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Warren and a brother, Malcolm Brunges. Surviving are his daughters, Debra Corradini and her husband Joseph, Weatherly and Sandra Hinkle and her husband Richard, Weatherly. Grandchildren, Amanda Hinkle, Christy Shultz and her husband Daniel, Nathan Hinkle, Alyssa Smith and her husband Tom, Jared Hinkle and his wife Megan, Cassia Hinkle. Great Granddaughter, Amara Shultz.
Funeral Service will be held, Friday, March 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc. 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, 18612. Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas. Online condolences may be sent to Disquefuneralhome.com
