George W. Layaou

George W. Layaou, 78, Dallas, passed away peacefully February 16, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospital surrounded by his wife and children. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late George and Margaret Frye Layaou and was a graduate of Dallas High School, class of 1964. He is preceded in death by his brothers Donald, Edward and his sister Jane. Surviving is his sister, Carol. 

He was a skilled carpenter in both commercial and residential construction. Upon retirement because of his love for music, he became a well-known local DJ playing at venues for family and friends. 

George leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife and best friend of 48 years, the former Gloria Haczewski. His daughter Amy Layaou and her fiancé Michael Davis. His son George William Layaou II and his wife Jacqueline Layaou. Grandchildren, his pride and joy, Marlayna Belle Layaou and George William Layaou III. 

Funeral services will be held, Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 8:00 PM from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, Pa. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 6:00 PM until time of service. Online condolences may be made at Disquefuneralhome.com.
