Gail J. Hillard Elston

Gail June Hillard Elston, 86, Dallas, passed away, Saturday, September 20, 2025 at The Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. Born on June 3, 1939 in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Haas Hillard and was a graduate of Plymouth High School, class of 1957. She also graduated in 1958 from the Wyoming Seminary School of Business.

Gail was a member of the Dallas United Methodist Church. Gail loved her family and friends deeply. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved listening to talk shows, working at the church rummage sales and dinners, doing her crossword puzzles, adored cats and watching her favorite western movies. In addition, Gail volunteered her time at The Irem Shrine Circus with the Transportation Unit. As a dedicated citizen, Gail served her time in the community by helping run the local polling stations during each election season. Gail and her husband, Jay, just recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on September 11, 2025.

Gail was preceded in death by sisters: Katherine, Joanne, and Peggy; brothers: Henry, Frank, and Edward. Surviving is her husband Jay Elston, Dallas. Daughters, Margaret Tomkinson and her husband David, Dallas, Amy Ahouse and her husband, Harry, Sugar Notch. Grandchildren, Jane (Matt) Sabetta, Newtown, Pa and Trevor (Skavi) Ahouse, Dallas. Gail is also survived by her brother John Hillard, Binghamton, NY.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, Pa 18612. Online condolences may be made at Disquefuneralhome.com.
