Frank E. Wagner, Jr. 88, Dallas, passed away, Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at The Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. Born in Dallas, he was the son of the late Frank and Elva Kauffman Wagner and was a graduate of Dallas High School and received an associate’s degree in Criminology from Luzerne County Community College. In 1952 he enlisted in The United States Air Force serving four years in European Command. Upon discharge in 1956, he became employed with Keystone Coca Cola working there for 22 years. He was also a part time Dallas Twp. Police officer.

    Frank was a Supervisor for Dallas Township for 51 years where he also served as road master for 24 years. While serving as supervisor, Frank was very instrumental in instituting a recycling program for which the township has receive numerous grants for its environmental conservation. He was also instrumental in coordinating the gypsy moth spraying for the entire back mountain area and providing Eagle Scouts with community improvement projects.

      Frank is past president of The Luzerne County Supervisors Association where he served on several committees of the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors. He was also Vice President of the Pennsylvania Council of Governor’s (COG) and president of the Back Mountain Council of Governments for the past 3 years representing four municipalities.

     He was a member of the East Dallas United Methodist Church and is a current member of Trucksville United Methodist Church. Past master of George M. Dallas Masonic Lodge #531, F & AM, Caldwell Consistory, Bloomsburg, Fraternal Order of Odd Fellows, Irem Shrine and Irem Shrine Antique and Car Unit and past president of the Irem Shrine First Aid Unit. A member of The South Mountain Land Association and Dallas OES #396. His hobbies included hunting and fishing.

       Surviving are his wife of 69 years, the former Sally Lasher at home, Sons, William Wagner, Robert Wagner and his wife Linda, and Barry Wagner and his wife Heidi. Grandchildren, Kelly Alfano and her husband Steve, Jason, Marcus, Courtney, and Robert Wagner. Brother, Dale Wagner and his wife Verna. Sister, Carol Forman and her husband Harry.  An Aunt Evelyn Costello. Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., located at 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, PA. Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 PM. Masonic services will be held at 8 PM. Frank’s family would very much like to the staff of The Meadows Nursing Center for the love and care given Frank.
