Frank G. Rollman, 82, of Dallas, passed away, Monday, November 21, 2022, at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas, after a long battle with cancer. Born in Wilkes-Barre on September 18, 1940, he was the son of the late Christian and Elizabeth (Pape) Rollman.
Frank graduated from Meyers High School (Class of 1958) and Wilkes College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Business Administration. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Yosemite and was employed for more than 40 years at Blue Cross of Northeastern PA, retiring in 2000 as a Senior Director. After retiring, he volunteered with the Area Agency on Aging as a Medicare consultant. He was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas, where he served as Chairman of the Finance Counsel and several other committees. He was a long-standing member of the Dallas Lions Club where he held numerous officer positions and led many fund raisers. He was a Melvin Jones Fellow, the highest honor in Lions International, Dallas Lion of the Year and the recipient of the Dallas Lions Club Lifetime Achievement Award.
Frank was the founder of the Dallas High School Gridiron Club, serving as its first President. An avid sports fan, he spent many nights and weekends attending his children’s and grandchildren’s athletic events. He and his wife, Marlene, were also long-time supporters of Penn State Football and attended games at Beaver Stadium for more than thirty years. Frank and Marlene loved to travel. They visited the western states many times, several national parks, Alaska and Hawaii as well as Paris, France.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his brothers and sisters, Catherine Monroe, Rose Rollman, Bernard Rollman, Ruth Jurish, Mary Lewis, Joe Rollman, Helen Rollman, Betty McGuigan, Charles Rollman, Joan Hofmann and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Marlene; son Richard A. Rollman and his wife, Karen, Sammamish, WA; grandson Nicholas H. Rollman, Denver, CO; son Gerald (Jerry) H. Rollman and his wife, Deborah, Etters; grandsons Zachary M. Rollman, Medford, MA and Jacob H. Rollman, Arlington, VA; daughter, Kimberly S. Rollman, Exeter; and sisters, Claire Kotula, Camillus, NY and Margaret (Peg) Thomas, Dallas.
Funeral services will be held, Monday, November 28, 2022 at 10:00 AM from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at Gate of Heaven Church, 40 Machell Avenue, Dallas, followed by interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Prescription Assistance Fund at Medical Oncology Associates, 382 Pierce Street, Kingston, PA 18704 or Gate of Heaven Church, 40 Machell Avenue, Dallas.
