Florentine Weigel

Florentine Veronica "Cookie" Weigel, 82, of Dallas, passed away, Sunday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Wilkes Barre, she was the daughter of the late John and Stella Chihocki Sokolski and was a graduate of Plains High School. Cookie was a former member of The Shrine of The Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, NJ. Before living in Dallas. She was also employed by the church in a clerical position for many years. She was an avid volunteer with the church but also for any organization or person that needed anything. When she moved to Dallas she became a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake. Cookie was preceded in death by her husband Earl Weigel in 2000 and by a sister, Lenardine Padavan. Surviving are daughters, Theresa Walasek, Spring Hill, Fla., and Cynthia Petsko and her husband Robert, Raritan, NJ, Sisters, Natalie Mish, Exeter, Pa., and Irene Wilkas and her husband George, Plains, Pa. 5 Grandchildren and 1 Great Granddaughter. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held Monday, March 20, 2017 at 8:30 am at The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas with Funeral Mass at 9:00 am at Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake. Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
