Elizabeth "Bette" Rollman

April 7, 1927 — February 19, 2024

Evans, West Virginia formerly Dallas, PA

Elizabeth “Bette” Rollman, 96, died of natural causes on February 19, 2024 at the home of her dear son and daugher-in-law, Donald and Brenda Rollman, in Evans, West Virginia, where she has resided for several years.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on April 7, 1927 to John and Mary Sokol and spent the majority of her life in that area. She graduated from Coughlin High School in 1945 and worked for several years in Washington, DC for Western Union Telegraph Company with her older sister Helen. Upon returning to Wilkes-Barre, she worked in the office of Community Motors in Kingston, which is where she met her husband Bernard (Bernie). They married in July, 1949. She lived in the Dallas/Back Mountain area for more than 50 years.

Bette's highest priority and her focus in life was her family. Anyone who knew her, knew how much she enjoyed putting together photo albums with pictures from holidays, family celebrations, visits, and family reunions. Her homes in Dallas, and later in Ripley, West Virginia, where she moved when she was 80 years old, were lovingly filled with pictures and memories of her family. She and Bernie also traveled a bit – Bette happily told many people that even though she never drove a car or flew in a plane, she traveled to 41 of our 50 states and enjoyed those trips very much.

Bette was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Sokol, her sister Helen Sokol, her husband Bernard Rollman and grandson Brett Brotherton. She is survived by her children, Donald Rollman (Brenda) of Evans, West Virginia and Nancy Orton (Terry) of Arroyo Grande, California, as well as three grandsons, Doug Brotherton, Jeremy Rollman (Mendy), and Joshua Rollman, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial was on February 22, 2024 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, in Ravenswood, WV with Father Penumaka (Fr. Pen) officiating. Bette will be laid to rest next to her dear husband Bernie in St. Mary's Byzantine Cemetery in Dallas, Pennsylvania. There will be a viewing at The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, PA 18612 on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 10-11 AM with a burial service following.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kanawha Hospice, 1606 Kanawha Blvd., West Charleston, WV 25387. Online condolences may be made at Disquefuneralhome.com
