Elizabeth Betty Doherty

Elizabeth Betty Doherty, 84, Trucksville, passed away peacefully into Gods Hands at her home, Tuesday, April 29, 2025. Born in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Drum Martin and was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School.

Betty found great joy in helping others whenever she could. In 1995 she moved to Pennsylvania to take an active role in her grandchildren’s lives. She enjoyed cooking, singing, reading her bible, playing bridge, and walking the back mountain trail. She was a member of Cross Creek Community Church.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband James and her son, Michael and her brother, Michael Martin. Surviving are her children, Robert Doherty, Florida, Joan Doherty and her husband, Al Delvecchio, Florida, and Betty Ann Duffy and her husband Tom, Shavertown. Brother, Eugene Martin and his wife Rosemary, New York, sister-in-law, Kathy Martin, Long Island. Grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, and James Duffy and his wife Casey, Taylin, Rhiana, and Alyssa Doherty; Great Grandchildren, Elliot and Tate Duffy; cousin Susan McGovern, Tunkhannock, and her beloved nieces and nephews.

A private interment will be in Washington Memorial Park, Mt Sinai NY. Arrangements are under the directions of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, Pa 18612.
