Elizabeth L. Derby

         Elizabeth L. Derby, 82, Shavertown, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Maple Ridge Nursing Center, Kingston. Born in Bloomsburg, she was the daughter of the late Max and Sarah Parks Young and was a graduate of Westmoreland High School.

     Elizabeth had worked with Mercy Center, Dallas in the housekeeping department until her retirement. She was previously with Nesbitt Memorial Hospital. She had also been involved in personal catering for some back mountain families. She had attended East Dallas United Methodist Church many years ago.     Elizabeth was very active in local veteran’s cause helping with donations.

     Elizabeth was preceded in death by sons, Jeff and a baby boy. Surviving are her son, Max Derby and his wife Anna, Shavertown. Stepson, Marc LeClair. Grandson, John and George Derby. Tyler Jones. Granddaughter, Madeline Jones. Brother, Charles Young. Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

     Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023. 7:00 PM from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. Friends may call from 5:00 PM until time of service. Interment will be in Lehman-Idetown Cemetery. Condolences may be made to Disquefuneralhome.com.
