Elizabeth P. Covert died Friday, July 12, 2024 in Dallas surrounded by family. She was 95. Born in Kingston in 1928 to the late Albert H. and Emily (Gregory) Parrish, she was preceded in death by her husband Walter C. Covert in 1992, whom she married in 1969, and a brother, Arthur G. Parrish, in 1982. She also lived in Greenwood, Columbia County, as a child, moving to Dallas in 1940. She lived in Harveys Lake for a few years, returning to Dallas in 1971.
In addition to her daughter Sharon (Titus), wife of Carl Miers, she is survived by four granddaughters: Susan, wife of Brian Smith, Mohrsville; and Amy, wife of Bruce Thomas, Emily Owens, Debra, wife of Chris Traver, all of Dallas. There are also five great-grandchildren: Jacob, Ethan and Carleigh Thomas; Kayla and Tyler Owens; and two step great-grandchildren: Christopher and Laurel Traver of Sweet Valley.
Elizabeth graduated early from Dallas High School and attended Wyoming Seminary Business School. She was a basketball coach and taught phys ed at College Misericordia in the 1960s. She conducted estate and tag sales throughout PA for more than 40 years. She volunteered at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital for 35 years.
