Elizabeth Janiczek

Elizabeth Dembitsky Janiczek, 94, of Dallas, PA, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025. Born in Llewellyn, PA, Elizabeth lived a long, vibrant life filled with love, creativity, and unwavering determination.

Independent, strong-willed, and determined—these three words only begin to describe Elizabeth’s spirited nature. She found beauty in each day and had a deep appreciation for all kinds of music. A natural talent, she could sing just about any song by ear, and her strong, clear soprano voice was a cherished part of her church choir.

A gifted baker and cook, Elizabeth always made everything from scratch. Among her specialties were German chocolate cake, coffee cake, nut roll, homemade bread, and her famous barbecue sauce. Her perfect cursive penmanship, for which she received awards, remained flawless throughout her life.

Elizabeth’s true passion was her flower garden. With great care and joy, she cultivated a colorful display of daisies, coreopsis, snapdragons, and sedum that reflected her vibrant spirit.

She was also an avid board game player who delighted in playing Parcheesi, her favorite game. Family and friends fondly remember her whispering to the dice for a “14” to move around the board or to send an opponent "home."

Elizabeth's twinkling blue eyes and her joyful presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her children and grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held, Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 10:00 Am from Gate of Heaven Church, Machell Ave., Dallas. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 PM at The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. On line condolences may be made at Disquefuneralhome.com. Those attending the Funeral Mass are to go directly to the church on Saturday.
