Eleanor Smith

Eleanor Mae Smith of Wyoming, Pa., passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital. Born in Mill City, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur DeRemer and Ruth Alling DeRemer. Eleanor worked in a dress factory for many years. She loved spending time with her family. Eleanor was a member of the Christian Assembly of God Church, Wilkes-Bare. She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Smith, Sr., Brother, Richard DeRemer, sister, Marion DeRemer, and Granddaughter, Denise Sherrill. Surviving are her children, Denise Sherrill and her husband Edward, Jr., Plymouth, Eleanor Shockley, Covington, LA., Dorothy Aiken and her husband Jeff, Oklahoma City, OK., John Smith, Jr., Plymouth, Pa., Timothy Smith and his wife Kathy, Harrisburg, Pa., and Suzanne Smith, Nanticoke, Pa., 15 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, brothers, Robert and Ronald DeRemer, sister Betty Kubasti. Private Funeral will be held at the convenience of her family with The Rev. Sando Perrcone, officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.
