Edward Oncay

Edward E. Oncay, 78, of Lehman, died peacefully, Friday, June 3, at the Geisinger Medical Center, surrounded by his wife and children. Born in Shavertown, he was the son of the late Edward and Beatrice Drake Oncay and was a graduate of Lehman High School. He served in the Navy Reserves and worked at the State Correctional Institution at Dallas, retiring in 2000. Edward was a member of the Original PA 1000 yard Benchrest Club, Inc. and participated in competitive shooting. He also had a passion for wine making, baking bread, and watching NASCAR. He is survived by his wife, the former Margo Davenport. Daughter Cindy Rinehimer and her husband Mark, Kingston, sons, Jeff Oncay, and his wife Kris Ann, Nanticoke, and Eddie Oncay, and his partner Dottie, Wilkes-Barre. Sister, Joyce Chamberlain, Huntsville. Brother, Bill Oncay and his wife Donna, Uxbridge, MA. Grandchildren, Marissa, Emily, Branden, Kari and Casey. Nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held Tuesday at 10AM at The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with Edward's great nephew, Zachary Chamberlain, officiating. Interment will be in Lehman Center Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Dr. Shivprasad Nikum and the Geisinger ICU nursing staff for their care and compassion at this difficult time.
