Ebenhart Nilsson

December 12, 1929 — April 1, 2017

Ebenhart L. Nilsson, 87, of Dallas, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Post Acute Medical Specialty Hospital, located within Wilkes-Barre General Hospital after a courageous battle with chronic cardiac disease. Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, he was the son of the late Einar and Edith Marie Lohman Nilsson. He graduated from Ostrisgade Skole and Rainie College, Denmark. Ebenhart had worked as a Tool and Die manufacturer with The Ford Motor Company in Cleveland, Ohio for 34 years. He was a member of The UAW Union. He, along with his wife and their 6-month-old firstborn, immigrated to the USA in 1955. He had a great love for his wife and family. Of his many hobbies, one of his favorite was designing and building remote controlled model airplanes, boats, and helicopters. Other favorites included creating home movies on 8 mm film and recording music reel to reel. His fondest memories were cruising with his wife on their 32 foot Marinette Cabin Cruiser along the Great Lakes. Ebenhart had attended The Shavertown United Methodist Church, Shavertown. Ebenhart is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lisbeth U. Nilsson, his children Maj-Britt Black and her husband Dr. James Black, Dr. Jack Nilsson and his wife Bonnie Nilsson, Linda Pilipshen and her husband Dr. Stephen Pilipshen, Marian Heintz and her late husband Dr. James Heintz, thirteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Funeral will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 11:00 AM at The Shavertown United Methodist Church with Reverend Judy Walker, officiating. Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.
